The history of this villa is amazing, beginning with a luminous afternoon with a calm sea one day in August l999. A furtive iguana and a flock of wild parrots were the only distractions for Sir Salman Rushdie. At the time he was hiding from the Ayatollah Khomeini’s death threat as he wrote the novel “The Ground Beneath Her Feet”. In one of the passages he described the destruction by fierce tempest of that same house where he had found refuge. Little did he know that in 2002, hurricane Kena would take its toll on the beautiful villa.
Solidly rebuilt to become virtually indestructible and under its new name of Rancho Huracan , this dazzling beach house has been a haven for all its guests. Designed by the internationally renowned architectural firm De Yturbe Arquitectos, the 9 ½ acre property spreads over a hill teeming with the lush, thriving vegetation of the rainforest and the diversity of jungle creatures. Overlooking the magnificent Pacific ocean, it stands on a secluded stretch of coast between the unparalleled development of Punta Mita and the laid-back fishing village of Sayulita, and only a 45 minute drive from Puerto Vallarta’s airport.
The surroundings are incomparable and include private access to three private beaches, glorious ocean views, a sparkling pool, and a jetted hot tub. Two maids offer full-time service, and a masterful chef is on hand for two meals a day.
A houseman is ready to attend to any estate-related needs and a skillful gardener is available to maintain the exquisite grounds.

Owners are not responsible if guests have encounters with local flora and fauna as this environment is tropical in nature.
