Top 5 Caribbean Spots for Nude Sunbathing
Get that enviable no-lines tan at one of these hot locales

 Nudies, rejoice. The Caribbean hosts its fair share of sandy strips where you’re welcome to peel off the layers and lay down, swim, and generally just be in the buff. These include a good portion of the French island beaches, in the spirit of their mainland compatriots, but also a few more that you wouldn’t expect. To spare you an awkward phone call to the tourist board, here’s our list of the top five Caribbean locations for sunbathing au naturel:
#5... Anguilla
Sunbathing nude, or even topless, in Anguilla is forbidden. That said, we’ve still included it here on our list for two reasons. One: villas on Anguilla are so private that they offer ample opportunity to tan in your birthday suite without being spotted anyways. Two: there are so many beaches there that it shouldn’t be hard to find one that’s deserted. We’re not encouraging a rule-breaking strip down, but...

#4... Antigua
Antigua has just one beach – of a widely-promoted 365 in total – where you can go naked full-on (or off), but we give it bonus points for breaking free of the typical British tendency towards reservation. The beach, a crescent wedge of white sand called Hawksbill, is exceptionally pretty too, even without the scantily-clad visitors...

#3... Jamaica
No surprise here, as Jamaica’s hedonistic ways make up a good chunk of its tourism advertising. The island boasts the most nude beaches of any in the Caribbean and it promotes this designation with fervor, but take note that it’s not accepted on just any public sands. Small portions on most private beaches, rather, are cordoned off and scattered throughout. Try famous Seven Mile Beach in Negril for the biggest buff-et.

#2... St. Martin
St. Martin is another one-hit wonder, with just a single beach technically designated as clothing-optional. That’s at Orient Beach, which is also great for snorkeling. You’re unlikely to turn heads bearing all at other beaches on the French side of the island, but take heed: the Dutch side has a different attitude towards bathing in the buff, so it’s best to keep all-over tanning there confined to your villa’s terrace.

#1... St. Barts
Blame it on the joie de vivre, or maybe the bounty of beautiful, hard-to-reach beaches. Whatever the reason, St. Barts is the unchallenged bastion of nude sunbathing in the Caribbean, with fourteen white-sand wedges to choose from. Grande Saline is where the particularly young and beautiful bodies congregate.

Birthday Suit Bonus
The US Virgin Islands don’t condone nude sunbathing on their beaches (and neither do we! We swear!), but a sunny strip-down does sometimes just happen on St. John’s Salomon Beach, if you’re interested. |
