Like romantic comedies, camping and red wine, there’s just something about a villa rental holiday that can bring girlfriends together. Maybe it’s the chance to laugh and lounge under one roof for an entire holiday, sans worrying about calling from hotel room to room to make plans. Or it could be the staff working just for you, taking care of all those details while you’re free to enjoy each other’s company, as serenely or wildly as you like. ST. BARTS: For Girls With a Shopping Habit
Throw any good-size group of girls together and at least one or two will come right out and admit they are addicted to shopping. (The rest are usually just too shy to say it out loud.) No one knows shopping – and upscale boutiques – like the French, and St. Barts is the most French-chic of all Caribbean islands. Needless to say, eyes glazed and credit cards ready, this is the place for shopaholics on holiday. BARBADOS: For Beach Bunnies
You know the type – she owns 46 bottles of tanning oil and one bottle of sunscreen, with an SPF of 4. She’s a beach bunny, and she usually travels in sand-savvy herds. She knows that Barbados is the hot spot for celeb-watching beaches (Sandy Lane), hot-guys-doing-sports beaches (Paynes Bay), and quiet beaches for tanning (Bottom Bay). The island, of course, has its other charms, but don’t expect her to peel herself off the beach towel except to catch a little air-conditioned shut eye.

CABO SAN LUCAS: For Girls Who Know How to Party
Cabo has made great strides in the last decade, emerging from its designation as spring-break heaven to a much classier getaway for all generations. That doesn’t mean it’s lost its will to party. Cabo still knows how to show guests a good time, with beach bars, clubs, and restaurants galore. For an experience that’s quintessential of the area’s growth, try Sancho Panza Wine Bar & Bistro. The gals won’t know what hit ‘em.
